Those of us who have spent a long time in a specific discipline often become engrossed in the subtle theoretical nuances and the historical roots of concepts. We can forget that our partners on a multi-disciplinary design and development team may not be so interested in that level of detail – they just want enough information to get the project further down the road. So, we have to remember that the diversity of interests is a plus – and we should not be disappointed when others don’t share our enthusiasm for gaining a deeper understanding of a narrow slice of the world.
